MACSUR Knowledge Hub
ERA-LEARN
The Knowledge Hub for Modelling European Agriculture with Climate Change for Food Security (MACSUR) was launched by the Joint Programming Initiative on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change (FACCE-JPI). It is a network of 300 European researchers from 18 European countries who aim to advance the science of modelling and assessment of the impacts of climate variability and change on regional farming systems and food production in Europe. Besides networking amongst researchers, the MACSUR Knowledge Hub also allows for capacity building and the conduct of new research coordinated at trans-national level.

Questionnaire to Programme Managers for use in interviews with network project staff
ERA-LEARN
ERA-LEARN presents a global list of criteria for network assessment based on review of international policy reports; review of international academic literature; analysis of national involvement; and analysis of agency involvement in a core set of shared ERA-NETs. Defining these criteria and testing the initial model necessitated the construction of a Questionnaire to Programme Managers for use in interviews with network project staff and a set of Instructions To the Strategic Person within the Agency in how to use the model (available for download below).

Final report of GPC implementation group 2: Alignment and improving Interoperability
GPC
The GPC implementation group for alignment and improved interoperability, IG2, was given the task to ”develop strategies, instruments and methods to boost alignment from both the Joint Programming Initiative (JPI) and the member/associated states (MS) side with input from JPIs, MS, the European Commission (EC) and other stakeholders”. The work is based on the GPC alignment working group report from 2014 and focuses on the governance from the side of the member/associated states. National alignment is a precursor to effective cooperation at the European level. Preparing the national system for European partnerships is also a key factor for less frequently represented countries to be able to join additional JPIs.

Example Final Assessment of M-ERA.NET
M-ERA.NET
M-ERA.NET has an excellent database, with a lot of well selected data compiled from call operation, proposal evaluation, and from beneficiaries during the lifetime of M-ERA.NET. In addition, data is used in this report which was compiled during the operation of M-ERA.NET predecessors MATERA and MNT-ERA.NET, or displayed in their final assessment reports.1 Furthermore, a SWOT workshop and two web surveys – directed at M-ERA.NET work members and at beneficiaries and proposers – were performed to complete the data base for this assessment. Main findings of the evaluation and practical insight are summarised in the following.
