Project: Multi-Mode IP Radio For 4G Broadband Wireless Internet

The vision of the Ps addressing wireless markets is to research and bring out technologies that can secure the Ps abilities to become leading suppliers in the new global wireless internet industry set to experience significant growth over the next 1-5 years and to strengthen and position both companies as leading new-thinkers in this high growth industry. The addressable market is global and in the order of 1 BUSD today and will increase to 10 BUSD in 2012 and to 20 BUSD in 2014. _x000D__x000D_The Ps will create prototypes and bring out commercial products that solve the key challenges of wireless access networks; namely _x000D__x000D_i) Lack of capacity for true broadband wireless experience_x000D_ii) Lack of flexible architectures, _x000D_iii) Too many frequency variants to cover the global spectrum needs and _x000D_vi) Too high deployment and operational costs. _x000D__x000D_In addition, one of the biggest challenges with Wireless Broadband Internet is to make it accessible to consumers at an affordable cost. Without a doubt, the more such solutions integrate with IP (Internet Protocol) networks the more service providers will embrace the technology resulting in more network build-outs. _x000D__x000D_The Ps we will lower the number of product variants needed to address the global market frequency wise and we will significantly improve the power efficiency to ensure greener communication systems. _x000D__x000D_We will market ourselves heavily during the project including a strong focus on industry articles and press releases. This will display the advantages of the EUROSTAR program with the Ps working together in full synergy._x000D__x000D_In short the Ps will bring out a product family adhering to the following:_x000D__x000D_• A network and product concept that allows the wireless access to be regarded as an IP (internet Protocol) node that address the capacity shortcomings of existing wireless radio technologies_x000D__x000D_• Broadband concept that reduces the number of product variants by which operators around the globe greatly can reduce their operational expenses_x000D__x000D_• A concept aiming the highest possible efficiency higher power efficiency and associated lower weight to enable operators around the globe to significantly reduce their operational and capital expenditures by reduced power consumption and by greatly easing the installation processes._x000D__x000D_The vision is that the project outcome will enable generation of annual revenues of 30 Mio Euro in 5 years from project start and enable the creation of 20-100 new jobs. _x000D__x000D_The Ps are well equipped to enable a prototype of the product within 12 months from project kick-off and a commercially available product within 18-20 months from kickoff. The parties will work closely in the consortium through a steering committee consisting of commercial and technical people. Joint use of one parties baseband processing strengths, the other parties strong radio know-how and the joint vision of IP enabling the entire wireless access will be the foundation and the continued vision of the steering group. _x000D_
