Project: Offshore oil and gas exploration by DNA-biomarkers in seabed samples taken by autonomous drop nodes

Project Topic	We will develop new, innovative and cost-effective methods for offshore hydrocarbon exploration. Soil will be sampled from the sea bed at defined locations by dropping autonomous nodes in swarms from a surface vessel and recovering them and the samples afterwards. The microbial ecosystem in each sample will be analyzed with advanced DNA-fingerprinting and machine learning methods to predict the presence of hydrocarbons. The nodes can also acquire seismic and environmental data efficiently.
