| Project Topic | We aim to set the cornerstone towards a digital revolution in the prosthetics sector by disrupting the conventional “plaster-casting” approach used to adapt prosthetic arm sockets to patients. Hereto, we will develop a new workflow for prosthetists, comprising: 1) a smartphone-based 3D scanning method to model the patient’s stump anatomy, 2) a user-friendly cloud platform to automate socket design and customization, and 3) a 3D printing pipeline for manufacturing the patient-tailored arm socket. |
