Project Topic	More than 300 types of road safety barriers, also known as Vehicle Restraint Systems (VRS), exist in the D-A-CH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) alone. AENEAS develops a classification & asset management system which encompasses large-scale digitisation, automated classification and GIS-based analysis of VRS using 3D-vision and machine learning. AENEAS also contributes to the EN 1317 which identifies impact test tolerances for type approval from National Road Authorities (NRAs).
