Project: An Innovative Cryogenic Tube for Vacuum Blood Collection and Cryostorage of Plasma Samples.
Freeze-thawing cycles are disastrous for cryopreserved biosamples. The frozen ICENESS tube can be subdivided in to sections to circumvent this problem. The ICENESS tube will replace existing vacuum blood collection tubes and allows direct separation of blood cells from plasma to keep the cells for direct analysis and the plasma for storage. The tube will be complemented with labeling and identification system using QR codes to store large sample sets.
