| Project Topic | We will develop a compact Sludge Processing Unit (SPU) that will utilize the energy contained in discharged wastewater sludge from land based aquaculture facilities for the onsite separation of the sludge into 3 fractions: clean discharge water to be reused by RAS, pyrolysis gas to provide heat for drying the sludge and to be used for heating (or chilling via absorption cooling) in aquaculture, and a mineral and carbon rich biochar suitable for soil treatment and use as a fertilizer. |
