The challenges or problems that the P2P tries to deal with may be societal challenges that the Member States agree are important, that require collaboration to find research and innovation based solutions.

They may also refer to other types of challenges such as maintaining industrial competitiveness in certain sectors.

Tip

The challenge or problem being addressed by a P2P is usually reflected in the mission of the P2P or in the rationale justifying the creation of the P2P or in the overall aim of the partnership. It is included in the Strategic R&I Agenda.
