The Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) is committed to making its Websites accessible, in accordance with the Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz, (WZG BGBl. I. Nr. 59/2019 idgF).

This Accessibility Statement applies to the website https://www.era-learn.eu/ .

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with Conformance Level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1“ and the applicable European standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) according to Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council, due to the non-compliances and the exemptions listed below.

Non-accessible content

The contents listed below are not accessible for the following reasons:

  1. Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
    • Success Criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content):
Some images are missing a correct text alternative. Diagrams are not accessible to screen-reader users.
The calendar widget on the “submit a call”-page is not accessible to screen-reader users.
    • Success Criterion 1.2.5 (Audio Description (Prerecorded)):
ERA-Learn video recordings are published on YouTube, which currently does not support audio descriptions.
    • Success Criterion 1.3.1 (Info and Relationships):
Some sub-pages have text banners which are visually presented as headings, but are not marked up as such. The heading structure is not correct on some pages. Some tables are lacking correctly marked-up headers. On the “Documents” and “News” pages, the articles presented and buttons related to these are not programmatically related.
    • Success Criterion 1.3.5 (Identify Input Purpose):
Autocomplete attributes are not correctly set on some pages.
    • Success Criterion 1.4.1 (Use of Color):
Keyboard focus is only conveyed through color in many cases.
Many maps and diagrams only convey their meaning through color.
    • Success Criterion 1.4.3 (Contrast (Minimum)):
On multiple pages the contrast between text and background color is too low.
    • Success Criterion 1.4.4 (Resize Text):
Some layouts are shifted when zoomed to 200%.
    • Success Criterion 1.4.10 (Reflow):
In the mobile view some elements of the main navigation are unreachable, and elements of the navigation are at the end of the tab order.
    • Success Criterion 1.4.11 (Non-text Contrast):
Some selected menu items are presented with insufficient contrast. In many diagrams, the contrast between different elements is too low.
    • Success Criterion 1.4.13 (Content on Hover or Focus):
The main menu cannot be closed using a keyboard.
    • Success Criterion 2.1.1 (Keyboard):
Most diagrams are not keyboard-accessible. Some pop-ups are not keyboard-accessible. The calendar widget on the “submit a call”-page is not accessible to screen-reader users.
    • Success Criterion 2.4.2 (Page Titled):
Not all pages have unique page titles.
    • Success Criterion 2.4.4 (Link Purpose (In Context)):
There are empty links present, and link purpose is not always clear.
    • Success Criterion 2.4.7 (Focus Visible):
On many elements of the website focus is not visible when an element is selected by keyboard.
    • Success Criterion 3.2.2 (On Input):
On some pages the use of filter options leads to the focus jumping to the top of the page.
    • Success Criterion 3.3.1 (Error Identification):
Input errors are not effectively communicated to screen-reader users on the page “Submit a Call”.
    • Success Criterion 3.3.2 (Labels and Instructions):
Required fields are not always communicated.
    • Success Criterion 4.1.1 (Parsing):
      Some parsing errors are present.
    • Success Criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value):
On the “News” page there is no information for screen-reader users about which time period is selected
  2. Content is not within the scope of the applicable legislation
    • Third-party content, such as presentation materials from external lecturers at ERA-LEARN events or documents of the European Commission, which are not within FFG's sphere of influence. This content is excluded from Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz.
    • There are videos embedded, which have been published before September 23, 2020. These videos are excluded from Web-Zugänglichkeits-Gesetz.

Should you need non-accessible content in an accessible format, please contact office@era-learn.eu. We will try to provide the content in an alternative format.
