On 01.01.1999, the State Office for the Environment and Nature (LAUN) and the Geological State Office (GLA) were merged to form the State Agency for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Geology (LUNG). The tasks and responsibilities of the two specialist authorities in the area of the Ministry of the Environment, which have existed since 1991, were transferred to the LUNG. The seat of the State Office is on the grounds of the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration and Justice Güstrow. cliff In the field of environment and nature conservation, the collection, documentation and assessment of the state of the environment, the development of the basis for the planning and implementation of nationwide protective measures and the advice of the state government are in the foreground.
