Project: Piezoeletric sensors Integration on composite MAnufacturing Process for predictive MAintenance on structural composite Parts

Project Topic PI2MAP is an innovative R&D project related to new manufacturing methods on integration of MEMS&Piezoelectric sensors for predictive maintenance of composite structural parts and bearings. The objectives are:1) To obtain a process demonstrator integrating Piezoelectric sensors 2) To overcome the state of art about the know­how and skills of composite structural parts and of bearings on structural health monitoring 3) To obtain two process demonstrators in relevant environment starting from technology validation in the laboratory 4) To define a Methodology to Design and Simulate the correct integration of piezoelectric sensors 5) To reach a deep technological confidence for safer structural applications like automotive suspensions and bearings 6) To to exploit the technology in different key market sectors. PI2MAP is a well balance set of SME’s and University (Politecnico of Turin) that can guarantee the success of the project and its exploitation. The partners have been selected to guarantee an high level of complementary competencies and skills to assure the project objectives achievement. The transnational cooperation will therefore be an important issue across PI2MAP.
