Project: Improving the usage of AM technology at European industry

AM2MARKET project centres in the application of modern Additive Manufacturing (AM) techniques in order to support the development of product manufacturing chain, from the initial concept to the final parts. The main guideline is exploiting AM2MARKET project centres in the application of modern Additive Manufacturing (AM) techniques in order to support the development of product manufacturing chain, from the initial concept to the final parts. The main guideline is exploiting AM potential benefits, closely tied in with the chosen manufacturing approach for each particular need. Thus, two different scenarios will be considered: first, low production volumes, where AM techniques benefits in a direct way, being a powerful tool supporting high complexity intricate designs, improving time-to-market and contributing to the Direct Manufacturing concept. Here, post processing operations are the key to achieve final quality products. Second, when considering high-volume low-unitary-costs production only achievable through injection moulding process AM potential lies in supporting a critical pillar such as mould design and manufacturing, allowing the implementation of new features which will improve mould functionality and noticeably simplify design tasks.
