Project: Energy Saving Intelligent Production System For Extruded Alluminium Profiles

The current systems to control the dimensions of extruded aluminium profiles are utilized only after the profiles have had sufficiently time to cool down and to reach the final dimensions. ESIPSE-AI endeavors to materialize an innovative a revolutionary system to go beyond this state of the art and measure the profiles much earlier in the process than is currently done when the profiles are still very hot and dilated at the exit of the press /die. The early detection of out of specification material will result in much less scrap material being actually produced and successfully reworked leading to a considerable energy savings for both phases. The ESIPSE-AI consortium has been constructed in order maximize on its individual strengths in terms of process expertise, material and mechanical engineering, thermal / machine vision expertise and commercial presence within the aluminium industry and so to maximize the synergies and complementary outcomes.
