Project: Improved Information Visualization System
Optea AB, a Swedish SME established in 2005, operating in the field of vehicle projection systems. Optea AB is proposing a project together with a world Leading European forest machine company and a world Leading Research Institute within the Forestry Sector to develop an Innovative information display system improving productivity, ergonomics and environment of forestry machines._x000D__x000D_There is an increased demand for simplified visual information handling system by the operators of construction, forestry and other off road vehicles and this is the key driver for the development of a visual information handling system._x000D_The project will be based in the extensive documented research carried out by Skogforsk (the Forestry Research Institute of Sweden) during the past years, specifically within this area. The research also proves the market need of such product. Skogforsk, which is an applied research institute, has together with forest enterprises, entrepreneurs and forest machine manufacturers verified the need for this kind of technology. Even though the market of the forest machine sector is smaller than the construction sector and tractor sector, the demands on a visual information system is much higher due to visualization of more complex information in real time and also the environment is much harder. If the new information handling system is capable to solve the information in a forest machine the system is even suitable construction and other off road machines._x000D__x000D_The objective of the project is to develop a commercial product (system), including the manufacture of an P1-proto series, that can be tested and evaluated by Skogforsk and Komatsu Forest AB at the final stages of the project._x000D__x000D_The technology platform for this product is expected to be based in the existing Veo+ mobile projection platform, and the HUD (Head's Up Display) system concept called EagleEye, that Optea AB has been developing in vehicle applications the past 3 years. _x000D__x000D_The technical and commercial adaptation of this Veo+ platform to the particular needs of the Forestry machine sector will be coordinated in a project team including Optea, Upstream Engineering, Skogforsk and Komatsu Forest AB where Upstream Engineering has an important role in the project providing optical design expertise, as this is believed to be one technical challenge._x000D__x000D_The resulting product will be offered to this industry as a whole by Optea. _x000D_Also, the same technological platform, is believed to easily be adapted to other similar applications as agricultural machinery or construction machinery.
