Project Topic	FAUST´s consortium aims to develop and deliver a novel egg inspection system to be applied at egg packing stations. The system will comprise several light/imaging setups supported by machine learning algorithms that will enable a highly accurate detection in-line of egg-specific characteristics within the egg (air pockets, egg-shell strength and thickness, cracks and micro-cracks), as well as bacterial detection and eradication, thus moving towards an improved food quality and safety.
