Project Topic	We aim to develop a satellite based Internet-of-things (Sat-IoT) standard, implement it in prototype IoT/M2M devices and demonstrate it on a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite. This Sat-IoT system will be compatible with the terrestrial IoT standards and could be integrated into the 5G ecosystem, which is the main differentiator compared to other existing satellite IoT pretenders. The intended Sat-IoT device will be small, low power (thus longer battery life) and low cost for benefits of all users.
