Project: High-Density Pavement Scanning for Condition Monitoring of Roads

We propose the development of a mobile laser scanning system that measures and analyzes highly dense 3D profiles of complete road networks with unprecedented resolution and speed. In parallel, it performs high resolution pavement structure analyses. The idea is to prevent major road damages by early recognition of smallest damages. Our purely laser based system integrates for the first time road profile measurements and structure analysis into one single compact and economic scanning device.
