Project: Patient-Specific bone repositioning using 3D planning and additive manufacturing technology
A fracture may malunite in the healing process resulting in bone deformity and loss of function. The project aim is to improve accuracy of corrective surgery by providing “patient-specific implant” (PSI) technology . The project delivers 1) 3D planning and implant design software, 2) implants that force accurate positioning and fixation of bone segments, 3) implants optimised for shape and load, and 4) optimised production procedures. The implants will render treatment minimally invasive.
