Project: Smart Meter Data Analytics for Enhanced Energy Efficiency in the Residential Sector

| Project Topic | In the approaching era of digitalization and data centricity, the power industry will be shaped by those utilities that can provide advanced analytics solutions to better understand and respond to the needs of their customer. Especially when it comes to solutions facing the household customers, utilities still lack understanding on how analytics can be used in a smart grid. In this project, we will develop further and test methods of energy data analytics and machine learning that automatically infer efficiency-related characteristics of individual households (presence of energy guzzlers, residents suitability for and affinity towards self-supply and storage, need for energy consulting services, etc.) based on 15-minute smart meter data and additional information (weather, etc.). This knowledge makes household-specific efficiency measures and services possible.
