Description

ERA-IB-2 is an ERA-NET supported by the ECs 7th Framework Programme and a follow-up of the project ERA-IB. In ERA-IB-2, partners (19) and observers (7) from 21 different countries join forces to reduce fragmentation of national research efforts in the area of Industrial Biotechnology as well as to foster the exchange of knowledge across borders, and to increase cost-effectiveness by pooling resources and optimising mechanisms for joint calls. Thereby ERA-IB-2 contributes to a European knowledge-based bio-economy (KBBE) with Industrial Biotechnology being one of the key technologies of this KBBE. ERA-IB-2 will ensure Europe makes full use of her potential by identifying IB-related research and development needs through stakeholder dialogue and responding to these needs with coordinated, joint actions/calls.
