Project: knowledge and competence exchange solution for supporting occupation in the life of older adults

Acronym SpONSOR (Reference Number: aal-2013-6-118)
Duration 01/05/2014 - 01/09/2017
Project Topic SpONSOR reflects the needs to find new ways of working by offering a highly flexible matchmaking platform that is designed for dynamic labour markets for seniors. At the core of SpONSOR is a profound understanding of the need to address the core innovation concept of the AAL JP,which is based on creating markets based on the requirements of end users.By offering ‘service innovation for social innovation’,it will introduce an innovative service layer within supporting mediating organisations (service innovation) but for the direct purpose of better enabling these mediating organisations to meet the actual needs of the end users (social innovation).SpONSOR can be seen as a competence broker,a service platform that matches interests and competences among seniors, among different organisations and even between different generations.Just as our own competences and skills develop and change during our lifetime,so too will the needs associated with staying active and being occupied in the different stages of our active life.It will give them, and their supporting organisations, the tools and techniques to ensure that technology is used in a light-handed manner to enable their real goals:communicating with others, reflecting on choices and making the right decisions.SpONSOR will enable mediating organizations such as specialized job agencies, volunteer organizations, municipal social services and elderly support organizations to augment their service levels and allow seniors better match their skills to suitable activities. Some of the targeted services are:1)Skills assessment and dynamic profiling 2)Dynamic and elastic matching system 3)Collaborative activity management 4)Advisory guidance for contracts and legal issues 5)Users manual and training in social entrepreneurship 6)Intelligent mobility service with geolocation 7)Training services.SpONSOR will be deliberately grounded and located within localities and communities and will have a predominantly local or regional nature
