Project Topic 1.Need & Approach: Especially in Europe the number of people in need of care increases constantly because of the increasing average age and quantity of people with physical limitations. There is a manpower shortage in the care sector, which is in financial straits. That’s why seniors will depend on their close relatives for the care needs. These people need help - information and training in order to fulfil their role as informal carers. Approach:In a multimedia content editing/production environment, we will produce information and trainings for key care topics. As distribution media we use our own YouDo TV-Channel and an Internet Portal. Inside this project, we start with one key care topic in order to do the proof of concept. 2.Target groups: Informal carer:Woman(wife) in the age of 60-85 and son/daughter in the age of 35-60 Depending on the status of the elder person, he/she can help or at least inform her/himself. 3.Technology to be employed Content collection: We digitalise or use existing content and bring it in the appropriate format Editing and Production: We use state of the art equipment Distribution: - PrivyTV technologies -> possible to set up own TV channels, based on the IPTV solution to provide and utilize a personal TV channel. End users can set up an own community channel for certain topics. -> focusing on the target segment from 60-85 - Internet with iPad, PC,...-> focusing on the target segment from 35 to 60 4.Business model Design criteria: The informal carer should pay just a small amount or nothing in order to use the YouDo services. The models will be tested in a trial together with customers and all stakeholders. Revenue should come from the following sources:Care Insurances, Government, Online Advertisements, Donations, “Negative revenues” –cost reduction because of usage of open knowledge 5.End user participation We will actively involve end users in our iterative customer oriented design approach.
