Additional Activities & Cross Cutting Issues

Horizon Europe introduces a more strategic and impact-driven approach to partnerships. It sets out common life-cycle criteria for all partnerships with the focus on the effectiveness in achieving agreed Union priorities like openness, coherence and synergies with other relevant Union initiatives (including missions). The new strategy also introduces a systemic process for selecting, implementing and monitoring for all partnerships, linking them with the Strategic Planning of Horizon Europe.

The new strategic approach under Horizon Europe with the defined criteria for the European Partnerships requires a variety of additional activities carried out by the partnerships next to the implementation of joint calls (see the list of criteria in Article 8 of the Provisions related to European Partnerships in the Horizon Europe Common Understanding).

ERA-LEARN introduces categories of these activities and explains their background and goals. We furthermore illustrate these activities with examples from different partnerships.
