European Partnership Stakeholder Forum 2024 - Report published
|
The third Partnership Stakeholder Forum was organised by the European Commission and ERA-LEARN and took place in Brussels on 4-5 December. The event attracted more than four hundred participants in person and online and was opened by Ekaterina Zaharieva, Commissioner for Start-ups, Research and Innovation. PKH Opinion on European Partnerships under FP10 published
|
The aim of the PKH opinion is to advise the European Commission in preparing its proposal for the next Framework Programme, so that the co-legislators in the Parliament and the Council can use it as a benchmark when negotiating the future partnership portfolio.

Commission starts consultation on next MFF
|
On 12 February, the European Commission published a Communication on ‘The Road to the next Multiannual Financial Framework'. It outlines the key policy and budgetary challenges that will shape the design of the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF).
The Commission also launched public consultations inviting stakeholders and citizens to have their say on the future EU budget and the policies it should support. One of the consultations announced focuses on EU funding for competitiveness. The consultations will be open for the next 12 weeks.

Commission adopts its Work Programme 2025
|
On 12 February 2025, the European Commission published its Work Programme 2025: 'Moving forward together: A Bolder, Simpler, Faster Union'. Following on from the Political Guidelines and the Mission Letters to the Commissioners, the most important projects for this year are described in the document. These include an AI Continent Action Plan, a new Strategic EU-India Agenda, the 2025 Nuclear Illustrative Programme, and a Strategic Plan for the European Industrial Alliance on Small Modular Reactors/SMR to support the acceleration of SMRs.
A Communication on Implementation and Simplification accompanies the Work Programme. It sets out how the Commission plans to make implementation of EU rules easier in practice, and to reduce administrative burdens and simplify EU rules.

Study explores synergies between Horizon Europe and Structural Funds
|
A new study, which examines the evolution and the current status of the implementation of synergies between Horizon Europe and the Cohesion Policy funds for research and innovation activities, was published. It provides insights into the main barriers and drivers for the uptake of these synergies, along with possible pathways forward to achieve greater innovation outcomes. European Partnerships are one of the six types of synergies considered in the study.
