Project: Location Based Analyzer

Many businesses need to understand their customers' behavior within their premises (e.g. within their shop), to answer questions such as: "How long do customers wait to get served?", "How much time does a customers spend in my shop?", "How many of the customers entering my shop visit it again (in %), and after how long do they return (on average)?"_x000D__x000D_Many methods have been previously implemented to try to answer these questions, such as: loyalty cards, computerized queue management etc. _x000D_LBA will provide a low-cost generic and privacy-friendly solution to this problem, which will improve accuracy and provided innovative new abilities that answer practical questions._x000D__x000D_LBA uses a low cost wireless sensor network, able to locate and track Bluetooth and WIFI devices used by many mobile phones. The system locates and tracks mobile phones on the premises and uses the data to answer these and other questions, providing business intelligence solutions at a fraction of current prices. _x000D_The system can be deployed in both indoor and outdoor environments, and does NOT retrieve any data with which the phone's owner may be identified._x000D__x000D_The following applications of LBA will be demonstrated and tested within the scope of the project:_x000D__x000D_1. Management and optimization of Amusement Parks, and applications for visitors (large business & private end user application) _x000D_2. Management of customer’s activity in retail shop scenario (small business)_x000D_3. Flow and queue management in a hospital (large business) _x000D_4. Monitor queues in a large self-service restaurant (large business) _x000D_5. Remote monitoring of disabled people (health care scenario) _x000D__x000D_LBA's consortium contains four members: _x000D_- DFRC AG - a Swiss SME specialized in location-based technologies_x000D_- Wellness Telecom - a Spanish SME specialized in leisure applications and management of wireless networks_x000D_- The University of Bern - specializes in developing wireless sensor networks_x000D_- Central Remedial Clinic – Research Hospital from Ireland that will be an end user as well as a research P focusing on implementing solutions for health care based on LBA._x000D_
