Project Topic	The consortium will develop an innovative blood purification device for the treatment of sepsis (or blood poisoning), based on magnetic separation of bacterial endotoxins using targeted magnetic nanoparticles. In this project three individual components (1. extracorporeal blood circuit device, 2. nanomagnet handling units, 3. functionalized nanomagnets) of the technology will be developed and integrated into a prototype product ready for clinical evaluation, planned 12 months after the project.
