Project: Development and validation of Novel Immunosupportive Medical Foods
NIMF will develop a new medical food product to fight impaired immune functioning as a result of hospital malnutrition (particularly common in a variety of patient groups). NIMF will further develop Immune Modulatory Plant Polysaccharide-1 (IMPP-1) and establish Proof-of-Concept in humans. Initial market entry will focus on products registered as medical food to support immune function in malnourished patients. Once successful, IMPP-1 will be applied in a range of dietary products.
