Project: Implant for Amputees - A novel treatment to improve rehabilitation and mobility for limb amputees.
We will develop two medical devices to aid lower limb amputation rehabilitation: a bone capping implant and a corresponding prosthetic socket. They will improve load transfer between the prosthetic leg and the skeleton, reducing pressure, pain and soft tissue wounds. We will deliver a size range of prototype implants, surgical instruments for bone prep and implantation, and documentation to support exploitation through regulatory approval, clinical trial, surgical use and commercialisation.
