Project: Development of a high pressure CO2 assisted micro extruder for medical device applications

The aim is to develop a next generation micro extruder, which allows fast, mild and efficient processing of high value, medical polymers into well-defined shapes (e.g. hollow tubes, fibers, and porous foams). Unlike state-of-the-art micro extruders, the foreseen machine will enable processing and mixing medical materials at moderate temperatures together with negligible material loss. The machine will greatly contribute to the development of medical products with improved clinical performance.
