Project: RelaxedCare-destress care relations by unobtrusive information

Acronym RelaxedCare (Reference Number: aal-2012-5-199)
Duration 01/05/2013 - 01/05/2016
Project Topic 1. Challenges addressed and AAL-solutions proposed: Support the physical and mental care ability of the caregiver including preventing psychological stress----------- The RelaxedCare System aims to build a solution upon an existing AAL platform that uses a multi-level pattern recognition approach to detect the actual state of an assisted person and communicates it in a pervasive and unobtrusive way and thereby relieve stress from informal caregivers.------------- ------------------------------------ 2. Target groups for the AAL-solution proposal: Informal caregivers and assisted persons. Additionally, business partners for offering the final product and services.------------------- 3. Technology to be employed: Development of sensors and ICT equipment to analyze behaviour pattern recognition. Emphasis is equally on the end-user interfaces, especially regarding usability, user experience and aesthetics. The final system must be unobtrusive and fun to use. The consortium covers all the competences needed for the development. -------------------------------------- 4. Business model: Offering a stand-alone AAL-System in a Box and adjacent services. Several members of the consortium are highly interested in bringing RelaxedCare and components thereof to the market (Ibernix (ES), Mobili (SI), eichenbergerszenografie (CH), Schweizerisches Rotes Kreuz Luzern (CH)). There are no solutions on the market to find out how the assisted person is doing without getting in direct contact. ------- ------------------------------- 5. End user participation: Key elements of the project (field trials, requirement engineering by human centered design and user-inspired design processes) rely on involving strongly end-users. Capable end-user organizations with considerable experience in contact with the elderly are part of the consortium (50plus (AT), Swiss Red Cross/Lucerne Schweizerisches Rotes Kreuz Luzern (CH)).
