Mobility and Training of Researchers / activities promoting early career scientists and young
Some of Europe’s brightest young leaders in research into dementia gathered in London on 27th February 2015 as part of a series of workshops to discuss innovative ideas to address the disease. The event was also supported by the EU Joint Programming Initiative on Neurodegenerative Diseases (JPND) and Alzheimer Europe.
ERA-NET NEURON hosts regular networking events, explores training possibilities and provides other types of support for early career researchers. Since 2009 ERA-NET NEURON partner organizations have issued the Excellent Paper in Neuroscience Award (EPNA). The annual award is an encouragement for young researchers at the early stage of their career recognizing the most remarkable and outstanding scientific publications in the field of disease related neuroscience. The well attended EPNA ceremony has been adapted as a regular and part of FENS FORUM for neuroscience, the main neuroscience conference in Europe ensuring remarkable visibility.
